The Initiative for Workers Solidarity in Asia Pacific

The Initiatives for Workers Solidarity in Asia Pacific is an initiative of the Asia Pacific Mission for Migrants (APMM), based in Hong Kong, to foster unity among workers through advocacy, labor campaigns, research, cooperation and network building.

IWSAP was initiated in response to the worsening conditions for workers in the Asia Pacific, driven by neoliberal policies that prioritize capital.  These policies deepen division-   between hostworkers and migrants, formal and informal, unionised and non-unionised – obscuring the fact that all workers face the same system that favors business interests  over labor rights.

IWSAP aims to strengthen unity and solidarity among all workers, supporting efforts to defend labor rights and promote well-being. As a regional NGO, it will promote cross-sectoral solidarity, bridging communication, coordination, and cooperation among diverse workers’ organization to amplify struggle for labor rights and people’s development.
